X Games and ALT Sports Data partner up to bring regulated sports betting to X Games
ALT Sports Data and X Games announced a partnership that will bring X Games betting to bettors by allowing regulated betting on X Games tentpole events. Although sports betting is a huge part of the modern sports world, fans of the X Games haven’t had the opportunity to bet on the games yet.
“X Games is the most iconic brand within the action sports community, and we are excited to bring innovative betting markets to their passionate fan base. By integrating sports betting, we aim to create deeper connections, attract new audiences, and drive the continued growth,” ALT Sports Data co-founder Todd Ballard said.
ALT Sports Data plans on providing various traditional bets and prop wagers. ALT Sports Data will use exclusive access to official X Games data to assist with providing bets and prop wagers.
X Games’ streaming audience has grown by 113% over the last 12 months, according to ALT Sports Data. And X Games picked up 2.4 million “new social followers” during that time. X Games has 4.7 million followers on Instagram and 1.5 million followers on X/Twitter.
The future of X Games
“Our partnership with ALT Sports marks an exciting step forward, giving the action sports community a new way to engage with their favourite athletes and events through sports betting—a feature that has been integral to other professional sports,” X Games CEO Jeremy Bloom said. Right now bettors will find odds for sports like surfing, cycling, and ski jumping.
X Games will introduce a team-based format and more events around the world. “Backed by MSP Sports Capital (MSP), a Najafi Cos. portfolio company, the X Games League (XGL) will provide a year-round international competition calendar for X Games that will enable athletes to earn compensation beyond the $2.4 million already awarded through existing prize purses.” X Games Aspen is scheduled for January 23-25. X Games Aspen is a winter sports event that features skiing and snowboarding.
