Brazil vs Colombia Odds
Moneyline | Brazil -138 | Colombia +400 |
Total Goals | Over 2.5 (+125) | Under 2.5 (-175) |
The hosts are a heavy -138 favorite here with a win probability of 57.98%. Colombia comes back at +400. Brazil has dominated their South American counterparts over the years, losing just four times in 37 meetings. They last locked horns in last summer’s Copa America, playing to a draw.
Brazil vs Colombia Analysis
Since the World Cup field has been expanded for the 2026 tournament, the Brazilians shouldn’t have any issues qualifying. However, if that didn’t happen, the Selecao would be in serious trouble even earning a berth in the prestigious event. Brazil has a 5-3-4 record so far, bagging 17 goals and conceding 11. They’ve secured just 18 points from a possible 36, tasting defeat against Paraguay, Argentina, Colombia, and Uruguay.
On a more positive note, Brazil did grab a pair of huge wins in qualifying last fall and since the top six go through to the World Cup, they’re in a solid position at the moment, barring a total collapse. The hosts have never lost to Colombia on home soil, which is certainly a promising sign ahead of Thursday’s affair.
Colombia is sitting pretty in fourth and has found success over the last year. They made the Copa America final last summer, eventually losing to Argentina in the showpiece. With Luis Diaz leading the way, this is an exciting squad. Jhon Duran is also a fantastic talent, despite leaving the Premier League for Saudi Arabia at such a young age.
Los Cafeteros have a 5-4-3 record in qualifying, even beating the Argentines last September. However, they’ve tasted defeat in three of their last four qualifiers since then, only beating Chile during that span. Colombia have something to prove here but even if they didn’t pick up the full points, it wouldn’t be the end of the world as Paraguay is up next. The visitors are a heavy underdog at soccer betting sites.
Brazil vs Colombia Team News
There are quite a few notable absences for Brazil. Neymar has suffered another injury and had to pull out of the squad, with Real Madrid phenom Endrick coming into replace him. Both Ederson and Lucas Paqueta were surprisingly left out. Danilo, Eder Militao, and Bremer are dealing with injuries, leaving the Brazilians’ backline thin.
As for the Colombians, they do not have any notable health issues. 2014 World Cup hero James Rodriguez will captain his country, while Diaz and Duran will lead the line. Hopefully, Diaz can find his form as he has been struggling in recent weeks at club level with Liverpool.
Brazil vs Colombia Picks
I expect this to be a cagey affair and although Brazil hasn’t been great at home in recent matches, history speaks for itself against Colombia. The visitors aren’t playing their best football, either. The Brazilians will secure three points on Thursday.
Pick: Brazil -138
