In the main event of the night, we get a rare championship matchup between a proven UFC champ in Alexandre Pantoja (28-5), and a UFC debutante in Kai Asakura (21-4). Asakura arrives from Japan’s Rizin Fighting Federation, where he won the bantamweight title (for the second time) last New Year’s Eve, and will make his UFC debut on the biggest stage possible.
Asakura is an exciting fighter offensively, but he has been sloppy with his defense in the past, and his ground game is nowhere near Pantoja’s. He’s also 31, so we’ve likely seen the best he has to offer. Asakura will have to get used to a lot of new rules on the fly in this one too, including fighting in an octagon rather than a ring. Pantoja struggled a bit in the stand up against Steve Erceg earlier this year, so we expect him to go for control here and win a decision, where UFC betting sites are giving us excellent odds. Pantoja hasn’t knocked anyone out since 2019, and Asakura has never been submitted.
Best Bet: Alexandre Pantoja To Win By Decision (+333)

Unfortunately, a title fight between Shavkat Rakhmonov (18-0) and champ Belal Muhammad was nixed from this card, but we arguably got a matchup that’s even more exciting. The undefeated Rakhmonov will now take on the other undefeated contender in the division in Ian Garry (15-0).
Rakhmonov is bigger, more violent, and far more precise. He’s also got a massive ground advantage even if he doesn’t shoot for takedowns often. Most importantly, however, is how he dominated Neil Magny and Geoff Neal, both of whom made it to the final bell against Garry, with Neal even earning a split decision. We don’t expect Garry to make it the full 25 here.
Best Bet: Shavkat Rakhmonov To Win By Finish (-130)

Ciryl Gane (12-2) and Alexander Volkov (38-10) last danced back in 2021, with Gane winning a decision thanks to a varied striking game. This time around, Gane is coming off two losses in his last four, and he hasn’t fought in 14 months, which makes rust a worry. Volkov has also been on a roll lately, having won his last four. We think he’s learned enough from that first matchup to use his long-range striking to keep Gane from working on his body like he did last time. Sports betting sites are very low on the Russian, so we’re going to take advantage.
Best Bet: Alexander Volkov Moneyline (+275)

Kron Gracie (5-2) may be from a famous fighting family, but he’s not living up to the name. His last two efforts were brutal, and he’s going against a guy in Bryce Mitchell (12-2) who has only lost to the division’s champion and its No. 8 contender. Gracie is predictably tough, though, so we like Mitchell’s odds to win via decision.
Best Bet: Bryce Mitchell To Win By Decision (-175)

This is an exciting one. Nate Landwehr (18-5) has been one of the most fun watches lately, and Dooho Choi’s (15-4-1) is on the comeback trail after five years away from the octagon. This should be a war, but we like Landwehr’s more varied MMA toolbox. He’s a much better grappler and wrestler, and he throws a lot more volume than the Korean, so we’ll take Nate the Train in the opening bout of the main card.
Best Bet: Nate Landwehr Moneyline (-138)
