Kings vs Oilers Game 3 Odds
Moneyline | Kings +115 | Oilers -135 |
Total Goals | Over 6 (-110) | Under 6 (-110) |
The Oilers head into Game 3 as a clear -135 favorite at NHL sportsbooks. The Kings return as a +115 underdog for Friday’s encounter. The Over has been hit in both games so far.
What’s happened so far in Kings vs Oilers?
The series opener was an 11-goal thriller, with LA winning 6-5. The Oilers overcame a 4-0 deficit but the Kings came out victorious late in the third period. As for Game 2 on Wednesday, it was all Los Angeles, who took home a 6-2 win. Needless to say, the pressure is on Edmonton here.
Kings vs Oilers Analysis
The Kings had a very impressive regular season, finishing in second place in the Pacific Division, and went into the playoffs as a potential contender out of the West. You just know LA was also full of motivation heading into this series because it’s the fourth year in a row they’ve met the Oilers in the postseason, losing the previous three. This time around, Los Angeles is hellbent on a different outcome.
So far, it appears they could finally get past their rivals. Despite blowing a big lead in Game 1, Phillip Danault played hero with the winner late in the third. The Kings then dominated Game 2, with Adrian Kempe stealing the show with two goals and two assists. Most importantly, LA managed to shut down both Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid, who only combined for one point in Wednesday’s contest.
Edmonton is essentially in a win-or-go-home situation on Friday. Yes, they came back from 3-0 down in the Stanley Cup Finals last season, but it’s unlikely they’re going to overcome that deficit again. The Oilers need a victory badly in Game 3 to keep their hopes alive against a very complete Kings team which isn’t nearly as banged up.
The Oilers got Evander Kane back in Game 2, but he didn’t do much. McDavid also failed to make an impact, registering a mere two shots on goal. He and Draisaitl must step it up and find their best if Edmonton is going to come back in the series. The supporting cast, including Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, has to be better as well.
Kings vs Oilers Game 3 Picks
While the Kings have manhandled the Oilers to this point, I do not see Edmonton dropping a third game in a row, especially considering they’re at home in Game 3. The Oilers also have a 25-13-3 record at Rogers Place. This team is too good to lose another.
