The Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions are both favoured to win their week one home games. The Bills will play against the Arizona Cardinals on September 8. The Bills are -350 betting favourites to win that game on Sports Interaction. The Cardinals are +260 underdogs. The Lions are -185 betting favourites for week one right now. They will play against the Los Angeles Rams on September 8 also. The Rams are slight underdogs at +150.

Bills and Lions to make the playoffs?
The Bills have -185 odds to make the playoffs and +150 odds to miss the postseason. In the AFC there are a couple of teams that should be better this year because of players returning from injuries. The New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals both lost their quarterback to injury last season and missed the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers and Joe Burrow are two of the best quarterbacks in the league, so their teams should at least be in playoff contention if they can stay healthy. The AFC playoff teams from last season all have reasons to believe that they can make the playoffs again. But with Josh Allen at quarterback and one of the best defenses in the league last season, the Bills should be in the mix despite trading wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.
The Lions are -275 to make the playoffs and +220 to miss the playoffs. On paper, the AFC should be tougher than the NFC. The Lions should have an easier path to the playoffs than the Bills because of their conference alone. They are also in a division, the NFC North, with the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. The Bears will probably start a rookie at quarterback and the Vikings lost Kirk Cousins to the Atlanta Falcons. The Lions will have Jared Goff at quarterback again to go along with Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, David Montgomery, and Jahmyr Gibbs. There are a lot of reasons to like the Lions this year coming off a 12-5 season.
