The Copa America will be co-organized by CONMEBOL, the South American football governing body, and CONCACAF, the North, South, and Central American football governing body. South America is the only continent that can match Europe in terms of footballing talent, so it’s no surprise that they dominate the top of the Copa 2024 winner odds table. The tournament will run from June 20 to July 14, with the final taking place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
Copa America 2024 Winner Odds
Predictably, the top four teams with the shortest odds to win the Copa 2024 final are all from South America, though Mexico is no slouch either, checking in at No. 5. The nation with the shortest odds is Argentina, which makes total sense considering they are the No. 1 ranked team by FIFA, and La Albiceleste are coming off of back-to-back Copa and World Cup victories at their last two major tournaments.

Copa 2024 Betting Favourites
There are really only three teams in with a real shout to win this one unless we see some real shockers, so let’s take a look at the top three and what their current rosters are bringing to the table for them.
Argentina
La Albiceleste are the Copa 2024 favourites for good reason: they’ve got a boatload of talent even without Messi, and lots of players on this team were key cogs in the nation’s 2022 World Cup triumph and their 2021 Copa victory.
Up top they have a ton of scoring power with Julian Alvarez, Alejandro Garnacho, and Lautaro Martinez, all of whom play for top European clubs. However, they’ve also got one of the best keepers in the world in Emiliano Martinez, and some solid midfield strength in Alexis Mac Alister and Enzo Fernandez. The only worry is at the back, where they only had two defenders under 30 years old with double-digit caps at their last match in late March against Costa Rica.
Brazil
The only truly serious challengers for the crown in Miami this summer, Brazil won five of nine Copas from 1997 to 2019, and they lost 1-0 in the final at the 2021 edition. They’ve got a great international pedigree, and they’ve probably got more talent than any other country in the world right now.
In goal, they have arguably the two best keepers in the world in Alisson and Ederson, and at the back they have an excellent mix of youth, with Gabriel, Militao, and Emerson Royal, and experience, with captain Marquinhos as well as Danilo. In the midfield, they’re not as talented, but they’re a lot tougher, with Douglas Luiz and Joelinton pummelling the opposition while Lucas Paqueta gets things sorted ahead of them.
At the top of the pitch, nothing more needs to be said than the names of these world-class players, some of whom might not even see the pitch because of this insane depth: Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus, Al-Hilal’s Neymar, Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo, Barcelona’s Raphinha, and Tottenham’s Richarlison. Good luck to anyone trying to stop that.
Uruguay
Though a long shot, La Celeste are the only team apart from Brazil and Argentina with a legit shot at winning this thing. However, even they don’t have much of a shot. They haven’t won the Copa since 2011, and they hadn’t won since 1995 before that. They haven’t exactly had glowing results since 2011 either, failing to advance past the quarter-finals in the last four straight Copas and past three World Cups.
They do have a ton of solid experience in the center of the park, with a quartet of sub-30 midfielders that already have 40+ caps to their names, but other than that, the roster leaves much to be desired. Up front, they do have a lethal weapon in Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez, but he won’t have much other support apart from a possible appearance from wily 37-year-old Luis Suarez, who last played for Uruguay more recently than you might think, in November 2023.
Past Copa America Winners
The Copa America is a (usually) quadrennial international football tournament that is the top international men’s football competition for South American national teams, though they have opened up admission to more and more non-South American teams, with Asian and North American teams often receiving invites over the past 30 years.
The tournament has been held a total of 47 times since its inception in 1947, with all of the 10 CONMEBOL national teams having won the trophy at least once, with the exceptions of Ecuador and Venezuela. Argentina and Uruguay have won the most often, with 15 titles apiece. Here are the 10 most recent Copa America winners.

Who Will Win Copa 2024: Our Copa 2024 Predictions
The simple answer here for those looking to do some Copa America betting is Argentina or Brazil. Those two sides are far and away more talented than the rest of the field, it’s not even funny, which is why they are the Copa 2024 favourites. And it’s not like one of the other second tier South American nations has the home field advantage, as the mediocre Americans will host the event.
We love the young, speedy attack of the Seleção Canarinha with Vinicius Jr., Richarlison, Rodrygo, Raphinha, and Lucas Paqueta; that’s about as big a handful of elite attacking talent as you’re going to find.
On the Argentinian side, of their 14 Copa titles prior to 2021’s triumph, only four were not part of back-to-back or back-to-back-to-back title stretches. That means that when Argentina is good, they’re good for a couple of tournaments and are seemingly due for another back-to-back Copa run after their win in 2021.
However, Messi’s first absence from a major national tournament for Argentina in what seems like forever will not go unnoticed, and without the GOAT, the Argentinians won’t be able to keep up with Vinicius and company. Not only is Brazil a better side this time around, but they offer more value for soccer betting, with +233 odds to win it all at BetPlays. Don’t be surprised to see these two sides duking it out in the Copa 2024 final.
