20Bet is an exciting sportsbook and casino that is looking to carve out space on the Canadian market. Launched in 2020, this operator has wide-ranging features, although there are some areas it comes up shorter than other more established competitors. This review is from my perspective, meaning it is subjective!

I may like or dislike a feature that you would feel the opposite way about, so keep that in mind. In this review, I will be walking you through the core features of 20Bet, from how to open account and place bets, the strengths and weaknesses that set them apart, and their sports and casino coverage. Alright, let’s get into it!

20Bet Strengths and Weaknesses

No betting operator is perfect, and all have different areas where they shine or fall below standards. Here are some of the strengths and weaknesses of 20Bet.

 20Bet Strengths

  • Comprehensive Live Betting: Live betting is an extremely fun way to bet, as it lets you enjoy betting even after a game has kicked off, with odds that adjust to results. This seems to be one of the pillars 20Bet is built on, and their live betting page is easy to navigate and comprehensive. Considering live betting is one of my favourite forms of betting, 20Bet offerings are great for me.
  • Banking Process: I personally only ever bank with debit, but if you’re someone who likes banking in different ways, 20Bet has a lot of banking options, including many other sites don’t. 20Bet accepts cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, and their banking process is easy and fast.
  • Markets Cover Huge Variety: The whole point of joining with a sportsbook is betting on sports, and 20Bet has a ton of different sports to bet on. With over 30 markets and a massive amount of leagues, chances are if there’s a game you want to bet on, you’ll find it with 20Bet. I personally never bet on eSports because I don’t know a lot about it, but 20Bet has a huge eSports section with a lot of options.

20Bet Weaknesses

  • Straightforward Features: One issue with 20Bet is that they don’t have incredible depth when it comes to their features. They have the very standard options that are available on most websites, like live betting. The only unique feature they really have is their crypto wagering, so they could stand to add a few new features.
  • Simplistic Website Design: The 20Bet website is easy to understand and quite intuitive, however, it might cross the line into over-simplicity. It is a very dull website to look at, and while that makes it easy to navigate, they should invest some time into making their website look better as there is no denying the appeal of gambling on a sleek website.
  • Promotions Have Many Terms: The promotions on 20Bet are great, and there are many of them. However, upon further inspection, many of these promotions are dampened by terms and conditions. Even the Welcome Bonus, which is normally supposed to have fewer strings attached, has a lot of terms and conditions that make the benefit of it very limited.

20Bet has distinguishing strengths that will appeal to some bettors, and weaknesses that might scare others away. Overall, it comes down to what you’re looking for in a gambling site whether or not 20Bet is the right place for you.

20Bet Sportsbook Review Highlights

Whenever I try a new sportsbook, I inevitably end up comparing them to what else is on the market. The online sports betting and casino market is flush with new operators and old, and bettors have near limitless options to choose from. 20Bet is a new operator that is hoping to win over bettors with its wide variety of sports and casino offerings. 20Bet covers just about every sport that I would want to bet on, from hockey to basketball to football, and many that I wouldn’t want to bet on, like cricket, handball, and futsal, that may be fun for bettors more familiar with the sports. They cover all the leagues most popular in North America.

In recent years, they have added player props and futures betting markets to a lot of their sports. This has helped ensure that they are a well-rounded operator, as these are two of the most important markets for a bookmaker to provide.

The Welcome Package of 20Bet appears generous, as do their bonuses. However, upon a closer look at the terms and conditions, their bonuses and welcome packages don’t give you much of anything unless you’re pouring a lot more money into their website than you could get. This is quite disappointing, as I personally really dislike when bonuses are misleading and loaded with terms and conditions.

Banking with 20Bet is easy and fast, and also very secure. While I saw online that some people were complaining about payout speeds, I didn’t experience this problem. They also feature a lot of different payment methods that most websites do not provide, which is great for people who love cryptocurrency or other alternate forms of banking.

The sign-up process was also quite simple, and took a maximum of 5-10 minutes, although you do have to verify your phone number, which is always concerning for me. I don’t want the operator I play with to be bothering me with messages.

Customer support was solid, if unspectacular. I’m the type of person who wants to be able to call if I need customer support, and 20Bet doesn’t offer a phone line. They do however have a 24/7 live chat, which answered questions quickly and effectively for me.

There is no mobile app with 20Bet, which is slightly disappointing because this is something I value. However, their mobile compatible website works just as effectively and is convenient. It also looks good on my phone and is accessible to all different mobile formats.

Overall, 20Bet does have a lot to offer bettors. It is very new and still has some features it needs to add before it would become my primary site, but the website has great banking features, a solid betting variety, and software and games that function at a high level. I can overlook some of the issues with this operator because it still does provide a fun gambling opportunity.

20Bet Score

Bonuses & Offers ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lots of promotions and offers. The only reason this isn’t higher is that they come with a lot of terms and conditions.

Betting Variety ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cover a huge variety of sports and leagues. I love that it appears that they have really enhanced their market offerings in recent years.

Banking Options ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tons of banking options, including some most betting sites don’t offer, as well as all the basics.

Mobile experience ⭐⭐⭐

No dedicated app holds them back, but their website is mobile compatible and still looks good on your phone.

Payout Speed ⭐⭐⭐

Many reviews on websites have warned that getting payouts back is a hassle, although it is dependent on your payment method. This wasn’t a problem for me.

Security ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

20Bet used military-grade data encryption and emphasized protecting customer’s personal data.

Software & Games ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Has tons of games from many of the best-known operators. One flaw is a lack of variety outside of the Live Casino.

Betting Experience ⭐⭐⭐

Lots of options, and easy to place bets. However, the layout of the website is unappealing, which slightly dampens the experience.

Customer Support ⭐⭐⭐⭐

24/7 Live chat was very responsive and easy to talk to. However, no phone line to talk through issues can be a problem.

20Bet Welcome Bonus

20Bet has a matched deposit welcome bonus with both their casino and their sportsbook. In my opinion, their Welcome Package is below average, because they attach a lot of terms and conditions that make seeing any benefit from the bonus more costly than it’s worth.

Below, I’ll give a comprehensive breakdown of all the necessary information on 20Bet Welcome Package, from what it includes to how to sign up.

20bet

Welcome Bonus For Sports Betting

How to claim 20Bet Welcome Bonus

  1. Sign Up for a 20Bet account and select the Welcome Bonus
  2. Deposit a minimum of $15 with the sportsbook and claim the 100% matched bonus up to$150
  3. Meet the terms (5x stake of deposit on accumulator bets with multiple bets with each bet having at least two legs with odds of 2.0 or more)
  4. Receive your 100% matched free bets

20Bet Welcome Bonus Terms and Conditions

With betting operators, not everything is what it seems. A lot of bonuses and promotions come with caveats, and oftentimes a bonus that sounds great is not what it is cracked up to be. Let’s take a look at some of the terms and conditions of 20Bet Welcome Bonus, and see what exactly users would be receiving.

  • $15 Minimum deposit, will match up to $150
  • Place bets of 5x the bonus amount on accumulator bets

  • Each accumulator bet must contain at least two selections with total odds 2 or higher

  • Once wagering requirement met, bonus will reach account

  • Must meet wagering requirement within seven days

In my opinion, this Welcome Bonus falls below the industry standard. The restrictions make this bonus extremely difficult to actually benefit from. The key aspect that is disappointing here is that the bonus requires you to wager only on accumulator bets, which is something most welcome offers do not do.

 20Bet Casino Bonus

20Bet does not just offer a sports welcome offer, they also include a casino bonus for their users. This is a solid bonus, with more money offered than the sports offer plus the additional spins. The only downside is that it also has stringent terms and conditions. Below, we’ll look at what exactly the offer provides.

Other Promotions from 20Bet

We’ve talked about 20Bet Welcome Bonus, but that isn’t the only promotion they offer their customers. 20Bet also has other promotions that are consistently available on their website and provides additional bonuses during specific events. Here are some of the bonuses currently on offer at 20Bet.

Sports VIP Program

20Bet VIP Program gives users a chance to win up to $8,000 every month. If you place bets with 20Bet, you earn what’s called Compoints, or CP. Every $3 you bet on odds on 1.3 or more, you receive 1 Compoint. By accruing Compoints, you reach new levels. For each new level you reach, you’ll receive more Compoints, which can be exchanged for 3 bets. You can get $1.5 for every 100 Compoints exchanged.

Forecasts

If you’ve made deposits totalling $30 or more in the past five days, you can place Forecast bets with this promotion. There will be 10 selected games you must predict the result of (win or loss). If you get all 10 right, you receive $1,500. If you get 9 right, you’ll receive $150. If you get 8 right, you’ll receive $80. The winnings from this challenge will be received as Free Bets, which are non-withdrawable but can be used for any single or multi-bet.

Casino Bonuses

While sportsbook bonuses provide you with opportunities to win big betting on sports, casino bonuses give you that chance in the casino section. There are a wide variety of different kinds of casino bonuses offered by operators, and 20Bet has several of its own.

Some of the different kinds of casino bonuses include free spins, where bettors are given certain amounts of spins for free on eligible slots, challenges/draws, where bettors earn points playing certain games to be entered into a weekly/monthly draw for cash prizes and reloads, which are bonuses for depositing on certain days.

Here are some of the different promotions available with 20Bet.

Friday Reload

If you deposit on a Friday to reload your betting account, you can receive a 50% matched deposit up to $150.

Casino Slot Race

This race is open to all casino depositors. For every $1 you bet on the game that is the slot race game for the week, you receive 1 leaderboard point. There are multiple stages of the race, and at the end of every stage, whoever is atop the leaderboard gets a Free Bets prize of a certain amount. There are multiple prizes of varying sizes, so there will be several winners.

20Bet Casino VIP Program

This works very similarly to the Sportsbook VIP program. For every bet made of $20, 1 point is earned. After earning certain amounts of points, you reach new levels. There are rewards of either free spins or cash prizes that come from reaching a new level. There are high wagering requirements to gain access to those cash prizes though. However, if you are a high-ranking VIP, you earn better customer service through increased access to 20Bet top customer service team members.

20Bet Best Sports Features

Now that we’ve dove into bonuses, breaking down what they are and which ones 20Bet offers, let’s get to talking about what most sports bettors care about the most: sports betting! As an avid sports bettor, I know how many betting sites are out there vying for people’s time and attention.

A feature is a component or trait that a sportsbook has that makes them different. Let’s take a look at what features 20Bet has that set them apart in an ever-crowded market of sports betting operators.

 20Bet Live Betting

20Bet has a comprehensive live betting feature. Live betting is when you bet on a game that is currently in progress. The odds change based on what is happening in-game. 20Bet has a wide variety of live betting options, including all the markets they offer for regular bets. The display is on the home page, which shows which games are going on and the different markets you can bet on.

20Bet Forecasts

As mentioned before, this is a promotion that allows those who’ve deposited $30 or more in the previous week to pick winners of 10 selected games. If they get 8, 9, or all 10 right, they will receive prizes of varying sizes. The main difference between this and a parlay is that in a parlay if you get one pick wrong, the bet is ruined. With Forecasts, bettors can afford to get two of their ten picks incorrect.

20Bet Esports

Esports is one of the quickest growing forms of gambling, but not all bookmakers have learned the opportunity for betting here. 20Bet has a comprehensive Esports market, with betters able to bet on leagues of FIFA, Call of Duty, Counterstrike, and much more. If you’re someone who enjoys streaming video games and betting on the results, 20Bet has more expansive Esport offerings than the typical website.

20Bet Sports Coverage

When it comes to sports betting, most bettors are seeking out an operator who covers the sports they care about, with a variety of fun markets. 20Bet lives up to this, with some notable limitations. Like most bookmakers, 20Bet covers just about every sports league the typical fan would want to bet on. Whether it’s basketball, soccer, hockey, or any other major sports in Canada, chances are, 20Bet has got it.

20Bet also offers numerous sports leagues that are more niche, but still make for a fun way to gamble. Personally, I stick to the sports I know, because I believe information is the most important tool when betting. But if you’re an expert in Handball, Esports, or Futsal, then 20Bet has you covered with odds and live betting.

Below, I’ll give a breakdown of some of the most popular sports offerings 20Bet has, and some of the markets they provide within them. The most popular sports with 20Bet are:

  • Basketball: Basketball is a global sport that has seen its popularity boom in recent years, and 20Bet provides global coverage of this sport. They offer NBA markets, include spread, Moneyline, totals, and more. They also cover less popular leagues like the Liga ACB and Super League. One issue with 20Bet basketball coverage is that they don’t offer NBA player props, which is something many other sites do provide and is personally one of my favourite markets.
  • Baseball: If you’re someone who likes betting on sports with many games, baseball is for you. 20Bet offers coverage of this old and entertaining sports, with odds on the MLB, Korean Baseball League, and even some Triple-A bets. This is a more expansive baseball coverage than you’d find on most sites, as many operators just offer the MLB. With the MLB, bettors can bet spreads, Moneyline, totals, and some props, although once again, no player props.
  • Hockey: Hockey is the sport our country is known best for, and across Canada, there are legions of rabid fans of the game. 20Bet has offerings to appease many hockey gamblers, including odds on the NHL, ECHL, QMJHL, and international events, like the IIHF World Championships. Bettors can choose to bet Moneyline, the spread, totals, and several game props.
  • American Football: In the United States, football reigns supreme, and Canada is almost as fixated as our neighbour to the South. 20BBet covers American football, with odds on NFL games. There are several markets bettors could bet on with American Football: Moneyline, spread, total, and game props. Like the other sports we’ve talked about, the lack of player props for the NFL games stings, as this is one of the more fun ways to bet a football Sunday.
  • Soccer: Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, with legions of die-hard fans looking to gamble on their local or national team. This is the area where 20Bet has its most extensive coverage. They cover just about every league of soccer there is, including top and secondary divisions within almost every country, and international events like the Euro Championship, and even more niche events like U21 international friendlies. 20Bet provides markets like Moneyline, totals, spreads, score prediction props, and much more. This is where they offer the most different markets.

20Bet Betting Markets & Types of Bets Available

Now that we’ve discussed some of the most popular sports that are offered by 20Bet, let’s discuss the different markets that they offer on these sports.

If you’re unfamiliar with sports betting, a market is a type of bet. There are many different markets, and each operator will have markets they do provide, and markets they don’t.

In recent years, 20Bet has enhanced their markets. They have kept up with their competitors by ensuring they have futures and player props. This has kept them as a pretty solid operator when it comes to markets. They have a lot of different options to work with.

Below are some of the markets that 20Bet does provide.

  • Moneyline: a moneyline bet is a direct wager on the outcome of a game. If you pick a team on the Moneyline, you’ve bet them to win.
  • Spread: the spread is a wager on the point differential of a game. The spread is a line in favour of one team, with a projected differential. You can bet for or against the spread.
  • Total: the total is a wager on the total amount of points/goals/runs in a sporting event between both teams combined. Oddsmakers create a line, then bettors and bet whether teams will go over or under that line.
  • Outrights: outrights are bets on long-term outcomes within a league. These are things like which team will win the Stanley Cup or which player will earn MVP.
  • Game/Player Props: Game/player props are wagers on outcomes within a game that aren’t necessarily tied to the final score. Game props are related to teams, while player props are related to individual players.

 20Bet Betting Types

  • Parlays: Parlays are when bettors combine several different wagers into one. The odds multiply according to how many wagers there are, with the more legs in the parlay meaning the higher the payout. Each leg needs to hit for the bet to cash.
  • Live Betting: Live betting is when gamblers bet on sporting events that are already underway. Most betting sites have an algorithm that updates as the game is being played, so bettors can see changes in real-time.

20Bet Mobile Experience

As mentioned previously, there is no dedicated mobile app for 20Bet. 20Bet is a thrilling sportsbook and casino, but unlike some competitors, they haven’t had a mobile app go to market. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a mobile experience with 20Bet.

20Bet offers a fully optimized mobile version of their website, where bettors can do everything they would do on the desktop version of the operator. The mobile version of 20Bet is optimized to work with all mobile devices, including tablets, iPhones, and Androids.

They have a part of their website that pertains to allow users to download an app, but it is not a real betting app. It is a downloadable link of their mobile website that will be stored on your phone, as it is not done through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

20Bet Banking

Once you’ve opened an account with 20Bet, you’re going to need to fund it if you want to win big. 20Bet has a wide variety of banking options, ranging from the typical to the rare.

Depositing is quite easy and fast with 20Bet, and their variety of payment options surpassed my expectations. It is a relative rarity to accept cryptocurrency transactions, which 20Bet does, but they also accept payment methods like Luxon and MiFinity that I’ve never even heard of. If you are into using unconventional banking methods, chances are, 20Bet will accept whichever method you use.

Personally, I only ever use a debit card or Interac for my transactions. With 20Bet, I used Interac, because I couldn’t find a Visa or Mastercard debit option. While everything I saw online said this was an option, I couldn’t find it when it came time to deposit.

The deposit limit for Interac is $10 minimum and $6,000 maximum. Each type of transaction method has different limits which are clearly displayed.

I deposited $15 with 20Bet. I had to log in through my online bank account to Interac transfer to 20Bet, but it hit my account quite quickly.

Withdrawing is a similar process, although there are fewer methods. There are still a large number of withdrawal methods, just not as large a number as the deposits. For this method, I chose an Interac eTransfer, because it doesn’t require a ton of information. All that is needed is your email address, phone number, and the amount you intend to withdraw.

20Bet says your money should be in your account within 7 business days, and if it isn’t, to reach out to their customer support team. Seven days is an extended period for a withdrawal, but admittedly, some of the transaction methods are much faster than that.

Below, we’ll take a look at some of the payment methods that are available on 20Bet.

Payment MethodMin/Max DepositWithdrawal Time
Visa/MasterCard$15/$2200Within 7 Days
Interac$10/$3000Within 7 Days
Skrill$50/$7000Within 12 Hours
Neteller$50/$7000Within 12 Hours
Bitcoin$185/$30,000Within 24 Hours

20Bet Customer Support

Gambling with an operator you’re unfamiliar with can be a nerve-wracking experience. There isn’t the same level of trust, so an operator having good customer support is extremely important. With good customer support, you can work through issues and talk out complaints if necessary.

20Bet does provide solid customer support, pretty similar to what the industry standard would be. They offer a 24/7 chat for customers to get into contact with one of their staff, and two different emails, one for complaints and one for questions/support. They also have an informative FAQ page that covers most questions one could have about their sportsbook and casino.

I contacted their 24/7 chat to see how quickly they would respond, and pretty much instantaneously I was connected with someone to answer my questions. Their email takes longer to respond but still will respond quite quickly to inquiries. For information about their email and other contact details, check their website’s About Us page.

Below, we’ll take a quick look at some of the customer support options that are available on 20Bet.

20Bet 'How to' Guides

Learning the ropes of a new betting operator can be a hassle, but I’m here to help. Below, I’ll provide a guide of everything you need to know about how to get set up with 20Bet, including how to open an account, how to place a bet and parlay bet, and how to claim a bonus.

How to Open an Account on 20Bet

Opening an account with 20Bet is a relatively hassle-free prospect. If you’ve ever opened an account with a different sportsbook, it is quite similar. With 20Bet, it is a multiple page set-up, so you have to click through a few pages, although it doesn’t take much time at all.

If you’re worried about signing up with 20Bet because of security, they have some of the most secure data out there. They use Version 3 SSL Encryption to protect the payment and personal data of their customers, so there is no cause for concern.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the Sign-Up process with 20Bet:

  • Step One: Visit 20Bet, and click on the Sign Up tab
  • Step Two: Select the Bonus you’re using and then input your email, country of residence, and password

  • Step Three: Input your currency, name, surname, gender, and date of birth.

  • Step Four: Input your address, province, city, and postal code. They’ll then ask for your cell number, which you’ll have to verify.

  • Step Five: Click Submit, and you’re off to the races!

How to Place a Bet

Now that your account is up and running, you’re probably going to want to place some bets. If you’ve deposited into your account, you should be good to go. Placing a bet can be a confusing process, but once you get the hang of it, it’s quite simple. Here’s how to place a bet with 20Bet.

  • Step One: Go to 20Bet and find the sport you intend to bet on the Sports bar to the left
  • Step Two: Find the game you are looking to place a bet on, and click on it
  • Step Three: Find the market in the game you’d like to bet. Click on the odds in that market.
  • Step Four: Input how much you are staking on that bet. Your potential winnings will show up. If you are comfortable with that bet, click Confirm Bet.
  • Step Five: Enjoy your winnings if the bet is a success!

How to Place a Parlay Bet

Parlay bets are one of many bettors’ favourite forms of gambling, as they increase your odds (and risk). It is a thrilling type of bet, and 20Bet does offer it. Here’s how to parlay bet with 20Bet.

  • Step One: Go to 20Bet and find the sport you intend to bet on the Sports bar to the left
  • Step Two: Find the game you are looking to place a bet on, and click on it
  • Step Three: Find the market in the game you’d like to bet. Click on the odds in that market.
  • Step Four: Find the other odds you are intending to add to the parlay and click on them.
  • Step Five: Click from the Singles tab on the bet slip to the Multi Bet. Input the amount you intend to bet and click Confirm Bet.
  • Step Six: Win big with a wild parlay!

Frequently asked questions about 20Bet

Below are some of the questions that seem to surface most often when talking about 20Bet. You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

With deposits, it depends on the method you’re using. If you’re using an e-wallet or cryptocurrency, it’ll reach your account almost immediately. If you’re using debit, 20Bet says it can take up to 24 hours to hit your account. Withdrawals take a longer time. With e-wallets and crypto, it’ll take hours. With debit, it can take up to 7 days.

Yes, they do! Cash-out is a feature that is important to me because it can help you profit more and react to live results. 20Bet does offer cash out, although they don’t have an auto cash out.

If you prefer using an app, then maybe 20Bet isn’t for you. However, their website functions very well on a phone, and while having an app is convenient, you get pretty much the same experience just by bookmarking the website on your phone. If you love mobile betting, 20Bet can still work for you.

Yes, they do. 20Bet has a VIP program for both their Casino and Sportsbook. What this does is allows you to accrue points for bets placed or games played. These points can then be converted into bet credits which can be used to place bets or play games.
