Head-to-head info

While this isn’t technically a derby, Manchester United and Arsenal are definitely foes. Dating back to 1894, they’ve locked horns a whopping 243 times. The Gunners have dominated the Red Devils in recent memory however, winning five of the last seven meetings across all competitions. That being said, United did knock out Arsenal in the FA Cup earlier this season in penalties.

Rough campaign for Man United

Despite making a managerial change a few months back, it’s been a difficult campaign for the Red Devils. To be brutally honest, there’s no way a club of this stature should be where they are in the table. United is in 15th spot with a terrible 9-6-12 record, grabbing just 33 points from 27 outings. The hire of Ruben Amorim has made zero difference after letting go of Erik ten Hag.

Man United has a mere one victory in their last four Premier League appearances, tasting defeat to Tottenham and Crystal Palace while drawing Everton and barely beating newly-promoted Ipswich Town. Fulham then knocked them out of the FA Cup last weekend before a 1-1 draw in Europa against Real Sociedad on Thursday.

Scoring goals is a major issue for this side. They’ve netted just 33 times this term while conceding 39. The departure of Marcus Rashford has left their attack thin and frankly no one is consistently producing the goods outside of Bruno Fernandes. Without him, it’s hard to imagine this squad even staying in the top flight. United is a huge underdog for Sunday’s affair at soccer betting sportsbooks.

Arsenal should be confident

The Gunners’ form in England hasn’t been great lately, winning once in their previous four fixtures. That being said, Arsenal should be feeling confident heading into the Theatre of Dreams. The North Londoners just hammered Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven 7-1 in the first leg of the UCL Round of 16 on the road. That was without several key attackers including Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Kai Havertz.

Martin Odegaard led the way with a brace while Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino, and Leandro Trossard, among others, all hit the back of the net as well. Despite the absence of important pieces to this squad, Arsenal’s depth shined through. That’s a very promising sign ahead of Sunday.

As for the Premier League, the Gunners are in second with 54 points but Liverpool is 16 points above them. The Reds have clearly run away with the title, so at this point, it’s simply about locking down a runner-up spot once again while also trying to get as deep as possible in Europe’s most prized competition. Considering Arsenal’s success against United, they’re sitting as a -143 favorite at Betway.
