Premier League Matchweek 6 Saturday Betting Picks & Odds

We’re coming off our best card of the season in Matchweek 5, going 7-1 on our Premier League Saturday slate best bets, resulting in over +3.5 units. All we needed was an extra goal in the 1-1 draw between Leicester and Everton to get the clean sweep. There’s always next week though, and we go again for September 28’s seven-match slate.

Newcastle vs. Manchester City Soccer Betting Odds - 7:30AM E.T.

We bet against Newcastle last week because of their suspect underlying stats, and they were throttled 3-1 by Fulham. They may be at home here, and City may be without Rodri, but City has won four and drawn one in their last five trips to St. James’ Park in the PL, so we couldn’t jump on the soccer betting odds for City’s moneyline faster here. Not to mention the current drama with Newcastle’s manager.

Arsenal vs. Leicester City Soccer Betting Odds - 10AM E.T.

Arsenal bounced back after the tragedy against City to win big in the EFL Cupplaying their academy youngsters, while Leicester needed penalties to beat Walsall of League Two. Arsenal have also won five straight against Leicester, and they won four of those by multiple goals. Arsenal are 7-1-1 at home against Leicester since the latter’s return to the Premier League in 2014.

Best Bet: Arsenal -1 Spread (-188)

Brentford vs. West Ham Soccer Betting Odds - 10AM E.T.

West Ham has allowed the second-most xG against at a whopping 12.52 through five games, and the nine goals they’ve allowed are also third-most in the PL. To top it off, West Ham have not won away to Brentford in the league since 1953, and since the Bees returned to the PL in 2021, they have won all three matchups at home against the Hammers.

Chelsea vs. Brighton Soccer Betting Odds - 10AM E.T.

We’ve backed Chelsea at plus odds in the last two straight weeks, to raucous success, and we’re going to do it again despite the rapidly shortening odds. Believe it or not, these sides have only played 23 times in their history, and apart from a five-game unbeaten run for Brighton from 2021 to early 2023, it’s been all Chelsea. They’ve won the last three straight fixtures, and their moneyline odds are still very bettable.

Everton vs. Crystal Palace Soccer Betting Odds

Last week, the only bet we didn’t hit was on the over for the Everton game. While it didn’t hit, it came awfully close, with both teams scoring and nearly 30 combined shots. Neither of these teams has been great in the attack, but they’re both bottom eight in xG against and regular goals against. Palace’s talent in attack will ensure this time, we hit the over.

Best Bet: Match Total Goals Over 2.5 (-110)

Nottingham Forest vs. Fulham Soccer Betting Odds - 10AM E.T.

Two of the most pleasant surprises of the first month clash in the midlands. There’s not much in this one, so a bet on the result doesn’t seem like the smart way to go here. Both teams have scored in each of Fulham’s last four matches, and the same is true for two of Forest’s last three, with the one exception being their shocking 1-0 win over Liverpool.

Wolverhampton vs. Liverpool Soccer Betting Odds - 12:30PM E.T.

Since Wolves returned to the PL in 2018, they have hosted Liverpool eight times at Molineux. They won two of those matches, and lost the other six. However, four of those losses came by a single goal, which makes Liverpool’s spread a bit dicey here. Instead, we’ll go the other way and bet on Wolves’ alternative spread.
