Chelsea vs Everton Odds

By no surprise, Chelsea is a clear -175 favorite to win this clash on home soil. Everton comes back as a +450 underdog at soccer betting sites. The reverse fixture last December ended in a scoreless draw.

Chelsea vs Everton Analysis

The Blues have certainly improved drastically from last season, but they’re still not where they want to be. Enzo Maresca’s men are hellbent on a return to the Champions League and it remains a dogfight to get into the top four. Only three points separate Aston Villa in seventh and Nottingham Forest in fourth. As previously mentioned, Chelsea is in sixth at the moment with a 16-9-8 record. The club has been in respectable form but to be frank, they need to be winning a lot more.

Chelsea back-to-back draws with Brentford and Ipswich Town before beating Fulham. Pedro Neto’s beautiful winner sealed the three points for the visitors to keep them in the hunt for UCL football. The Blues have only three victories in their last nine meetings with Everton, although three of those games ended level as well. On a more positive note, Chelsea has compiled a 9-5-2 record at Stamford Bridge compared to 7-4-6 on the road. Anything less than a victory for the hosts would be a massive disappointment.

Everton sits in 13th place and remain comfortably out of the relegation zone. They’ve gone 8-14-11 this term, scoring only 34 goals in 33 games while conceding 40. Finding the back of the net has been a major issue, bagging just three goals in their previous five matches. The Toffees’ attack was toothless against City last Saturday, barely registering a shot on goal.

In fact, Everton has just one win in their last eight games, but they also settled for five stalemates during that span as well. The Toffees have enjoyed a bit of success against Chelsea in recent years, winning twice in the last six meetings. With Everton well above safety, Saturday’s affair is simply an opportunity to play spoiler and hurt the Blues’ chances of clinching a Champions League berth.

Chelsea vs Everton Injury News

Malo Gusto suffered a concerning injury for Chelsea in their last game against Fulham and could miss the remainder of the campaign. Wesley Fofana remains out for the hosts as well. As for Everton, they’re without Dominic Calvert-Lewin and defender James Tarkowski, who isn’t expected to play again this season.

Chelsea vs Everton Picks

While recent meetings between Chelsea and Everton have been a mixed bag, there’s one specific statistic that is hard to overlook. The Blues are unbeaten in 29 home games against the Toffees. There is also a lot more at stake for the hosts. I’ll take the Chelsea moneyline. They will produce the goods on Saturday.
