The Seagulls were just knocked out of the FA Cup quarterfinals on Saturday by Nottingham Forest and will be motivated to bounce back here. Brighton vs Aston Villa Odds

Brighton is a slim +105 favorite here, while Villa comes back at +230. A draw is priced at +280.

Brighton vs Aston Villa Analysis

It’s been a respectable campaign for the Seagulls, who still have a realistic chance at a Champions League spot. They’re in seventh place at the moment and just two points behind Chelsea, who are in fourth. That being said, every single game right now matters if they want to book a spot in Europe, whether it’s the UCL or Europa League.

The Seagulls have been in very impressive form, too. They’ve won six of their last eight games across all competitions and finally tasted defeat over the weekend, falling to Forest in the FA Cup quarterfinals in penalties. As for their most recent league fixture, Brighton played to a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Manchester City on March 15.

While Villa is in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, where they will lock horns with PSG in a couple of weeks, the Lions haven’t been as consistent in England this term. Unai Emery’s men are in ninth place with a 12-9-8 record. They’ve conceded more goals (45) than scored (41). The backline has been an issue at times for the club.

That being said, the Villans are also in good form heading into Wednesday’s affair. They have grabbed five victories in a row across all competitions and hammered Club Brugge 6-1 on aggregate in the UCL Round of 16 during that span. Also, on Sunday, Villa beat Preston in the FA Cup and will now progress to the semifinals. Marcus Rashford scored his first two goals for the club since joining from Manchester United. The visitors are a slim underdog against Brighton at soccer betting sites.

Brighton vs Aston Villa Team News

Brighton, unfortunately, has a laundry list of absentees for this fixture. Up to 10 players could miss out, including James Milner, Tariq Lamptey, Lewis Dunk, and Adam Webster, among others. Solly March, an important piece in the middle of the park, is also sidelined at the moment. As for Villa, they will be at full strength – mostly. Former Chelsea man Ross Barkley is the only player expected to miss out here.

Brighton vs Aston Villa Picks

Given the health situations here, it’s hard to bet against Villa due to their potent attack. Every single notable player is ready to roll and I do believe that will make a difference as the visitors look to work their way up the table with minimal time left in the campaign. They’ve also won five of their last seven meetings with the Seagulls. Take the moneyline.

Pick: Aston Villa +230
