Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest Odds

Vila comes in as a slim +100 favorite on the moneyline, while Forest, who is above their opponents in the table, sits as a slim +260 underdog at soccer betting sites. A draw is priced at +260 as well.

Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest Analysis

Villa is having a respectable 2024-25 campaign, currently sitting in seventh with their eyes still on a UCL berth. However, when it comes to the current Champions League season, Unai Emery’s men are into the quarterfinals of Europe’s most prized competition and will face French giants PSG, with the first leg next week.

When it comes to the Premier League, the Lions have a 13-9-8 record, scoring 44 goals while conceding 45. At the moment, Villa is just four points out of fourth place, which is occupied by Chelsea. Emery’s squad was firing on all cylinders earlier in the week, grabbing three points in a 3-0 win over Brighton. Marcus Rashford scored his third goal for the club since joining from Man United, while Marco Asensio and Donyell Malen all hit the back of the net as well.

Forest is one of the biggest surprises of the EPL season. They’re comfortably in third spot and unless the side completely crumbles in the next month, a spot in the Champions League in 2025-26 should become a reality. Forest has gone 17-6-7 this term, scoring 50 times while conceding just 35 in 30 matches.

New Zealand international Chris Wood has been their main man up top, bagging 18 goals. Anthony Elanga and Morgan Gibbs-White have also done their part in the final third. Nuno Espirito Santo’s group has won five games in a row, and Elanga played hero against his former club on Tuesday, scoring an early opener to help Forest snatch the full points versus the Red Devils. The Tricky Trees did win the reverse fixture against Villa in December by a score of 2-1.

Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest Injury News

Villa isn’t dealing with any major health issues. While Morgan Rogers appeared to suffer an injury against Brighton, he should be healthy enough to feature here. Ross Barkley and Leon Bailey are Emery’s only notable absentees. As for Forest, they remain without Wood, who suffered a hip injury on international duty. But, there’s a chance he could return to the starting XI on Saturday. Alex Moreno can’t play because Forest is his parent club.

Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest Picks

I expect this to be a highly entertaining fixture between two clubs who have a ton to play for. While Forest is higher in the standings, five of their seven defeats have come on the road. Villa, meanwhile, has an impressive 7-7-1 record on home soil. I’ll take the hosts to secure a massive three points in their pursuit of the top six and beyond.
