Arsenal vs Chelsea Odds

Arsenal is unbeaten in their last six meetings with Chelsea, winning on four occasions. That’s a big reason they’re a -125 favorite for Sunday’s affair. The Blues return at +333 and last came out victorious against their London foes in August of 2021. Needless to say, the visitors are long overdue for another three points against the Gunners.

Arsenal vs Chelsea Analysis

It’s been an impressive campaign for Arsenal, sitting in second place in the Premier League with a 15-10-3 record. They’re four points clear of Nottingham Forest in third but 15 points behind Liverpool, who are running away with the title. At this rate, it does appear 2024-25 will be another runner-up finish for Mikel Arteta’s side in the English top flight.

On a more positive note, the Gunners are into the quarterfinals of the Champions League, having just beaten PSV 9-3 on aggregate across two legs. They will lock horns with holders Real Madrid in the last eight, which is a tall task. Nonetheless, Arsenal is still alive in Europe’s most prized competition, which is a feather in their cap. When it comes to domestic action, the Gunners haven’t won since mid-February. They lost to West Ham and tied back-to-back games with Forest and Man United. A victory is very much needed here.

Chelsea has been inconsistent at times this term but they’ve found success as of late, winning two straight games against Southampton and Leicester. Enzo Maresca’s men have bagged five goals during that span and kept a clean sheet in both. That’s propelled them into fourth place, two points ahead of Manchester City, who are breathing down their necks for a berth in next season’s UCL campaign.

Perhaps the most impressive part of these last two victories is the goal-scoring prowess without Cole Palmer producing the goods. Chelsea’s main man is struggling at the moment, failing to score or assist a goal in eight straight appearances. The Blues certainly need their talisman to wake up though, leading the squad with 14 goals and six assists. Especially with Nicolas Jackson still injured, Palmer needs to find his form again. The visitors are a massive underdog for Sunday’s derby at soccer betting sites.

Arsenal vs Chelsea Team News

Arsenal still remains without several key players including Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus. But, Gabriel Martinelli is in line to return to the starting XI after recovering from a hamstring injury. That will provide Arteta with an attacking boost. As for Chelsea, Jackson is still on the shelf, along with Noni Madueke, Marc Guiu, and the suspended Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Arsenal vs Chelsea Picks

Despite the Gunners missing numerous important attackers, they’ve seen others step up, including the likes of Ethan Nwaneri, Leandro Trossard, and Martin Odegaard. Arsenal also has an impressive 8-4-1 record on home soil and have won six of their last nine against Chelsea, tasting defeat just once during that span. The hosts will secure three points in North London.

Pick: Arsenal -125
