NFL Week 16 Christmas Day Games Picks NFL Betting Odds

There have only been 22 NFL games on Christmas Day in the league’s history, so the fact that we’re getting a trio this year is a real treat. While two of the matchups are expected to be divisional blowouts, the prime time game will feature the top seed in the AFC taking on the top seed in the NFC in what could very well be a Super Bowl preview. Every home team on the slate comes in as a massive moneyline favorite on all the top NFL betting sites.

Highlights

  • Kansas City should dominate the Raiders, but perhaps not as much as people might think
  • The Eagles will have a nice bounce back game at home against the Giants
  • The 49ers are going to stamp themselves as the Super Bowl favorites against Baltimore

It feels like ages since the Raiders murdered the Chargers on live television, but the 63-21 stomping was really only last week. They will come into this matchup in Kansas City with an unprecedented 11 days to prepare. Does that mean they come in with a bit of an advantage? Well, the bookies certainly don’t think so.

And neither do we, for that matter. The Raiders looked terrible during the three-game losing streak that preceded their 60-burger, with a 3-0 loss at home to the Vikings serving as the stinky cherry on top. The offense has been sputtering under Aidan O’Connell, and before that TNF win over the Chargers, there had been serious consideration for benching the rook and going back to Jimmy Garoppolo under center.

It will only take a couple of possessions against the Chiefs’ stout defensive front for those thoughts to creep back into the Raiders’ minds, and that’s a very bad thing. Even without that self-doubt, this was going to be a tough trip for Antonio Pierce’s guys, as Vegas is only 2-4 ATS on the road this year.

This is not going to be a high-scoring game, so the Raiders have a chance to cover this massive spread, but with O’Connell or Garoppolo going up against a top five defensive unit, we just can’t see the Raiders scoring enough points to stay in it unless Mahomes gifts them a few opportunities. We’re gonna roll with the Chiefs at -10 with -110 odds here. The under on this one’s 41-point total wouldn’t be a bad idea either.

What to make of the Eagles right now? They got pummeled by the 49ers, then they got pummeled by the Cowboys, then they lost on a last minute touchdown to the Seahawks. And they’re still 10-4. but are they really even any good? The jury is certainly out on them right now, but man, it’s tough to back the Giants.

They looked good for a second there, but they crashed back to Earth posthaste during that ugly loss to the Saints. The Eagles’ top 10 rushing offense should be able to do a number on New York’s bottom five run defense, but that Philly secondary is so suspect it’s hard not to see Tommy DeVito getting a back door cover in this one.

We expect the Eagles to dominate possession and lead for the entire game, but those DBs are going to make a mistake at some point, and the Giants will punish them for it. DeVito doesn’t look so hot right now, but we think he can get enough going against this Eagles team to keep it within two touchdowns. We’re taking the Giants to cover what might be the biggest spread of the year at +13.5 points and -110 odds.

Baltimore Ravens @ San Francisco 49ers - 8:15PM

The game of the day, week, month, and maybe even the whole year is the final one of Christmas Day and Week 16. Both of these teams have already clinched playoff spots, but they’re looking to secure home field advantage now, and whoever wins this one is likely to do just that.

The Ravens may be the best and most complete team in the AFC, but that doesn’t mean much when you take a look at the lineup the 49ers are putting out there. Every week it’s like Space Jam all over again, with the Niners playing the Monstars and their opponents serving in the role of the down-on-their-luck Loony Tunes. Except in this movie, the Monstars always win.

Since they got Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams back from injury, they have been playing a different game. Their smallest margin of victory during this six-game winning streak is 12. Their average margin of victory during that span is 18.8.

They’re just overflowing with talent on both sides of the ball, and, they’re at home. Sorry Lamar, but we were gonna roll with the 49ers for any spread under seven points here. Take San Francisco to cover their -6.0 point spread at -110 odds.
