Teams have less than 10 games left in this regular season, so we’re really getting down to the nitty gritty of this NBA campaign. Teams are fighting for playoff and lottery position right now, so it’s all on the table. With eight games on Monday night, there are lots of threads to pull on. Here are our three favorite bets from the March 31 slate.

2025 NBA Best Bets Record: 25-21 (-1.14)

Note: None of our best bets feature odds shorter than -200.

Highlights

  • Charlotte has hit unders at home at a higher rate than any other team in the NBA
  • The Lakers have covered the spread in 9 straight games vs. Western Conference teams
  • The Clippers have lost just once to the East in their last 10 outings

CHA-UTA Game Total Points Under 219.5 (-110)

At this point in the season, there are more than a few teams that have already been eliminated from playoff contention. Currently, there are six such teams, and two of them are playing each other on Monday night. Of course we needed to find a play for a matchup with such massive lottery implications.

These teams are both gunning for the best lottery odds at the 2025 NBA Draft, so there’s no way we’re trusting either with a moneyline or spread bet. Instead, we looked to the total, where, unfortunately, we found great value on the under. It pains us to say it. But, the Hornets are home here, and no team hits unders at a higher rate (just under 68 percent) in their own building than Charlotte.

They’ve been especially low-scoring against teams like the Jazz who have nothing to play for (playoff-wise). The under is 5-2 in their last seven against teams not currently in a play-in or playoff position. The Jazz haven’t been blowing up the scoreboards either, failing to reach 105 points in five of their last seven. We won’t even buy an extra point from the NBA sportsbooks on this one.

Los Angeles Lakers -5.0 Point Spread vs. HOU (-110)

The Houston Rockets might just be the hottest team in the NBA right now. They have won 12 of their last 13, and yet, there is a little more smoke than fire in this little run of theirs. Of those 12 wins, a whole 0 came against teams with winning records. The one game they did play against a team above .500, they lost to Denver.

The Lakers aren’t exactly on fire right now, but Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves are on fire, and LeBron James looks no worse for wear after his groin absence. The Lakers have the third-best home ATS record in the league (24-13) and the second-best ATS record against the West (29-15), behind only the Raptors, funny enough.

And oh, how they love returning to the cozy confines of Crypto Arena after a road trip. In their first home game following a road trip of 3+ games, the Lakers are 5-0 this year. The Rockets, as exciting as they are, haven’t won against a team with a winning record since February 25, so we’re rolling with the Lakers, who are 18-10 ATS as the home favorite this year.

Los Angeles Clippers Moneyline @ ORL (-150)

The West is better than the East narrative may be tiring to some, but the fact is that it is as accurate now as ever. The Magic are eighth and right in the East play-in mix, but if they were in the West, they’d be just on the outside looking in. Perhaps only the Thunder have made that divide more clear this year than the Clippers, who are 20-9 against teams from the lowly Eastern Conference.

James Harden’s Clips have lost just once in their last 10 meetings with foes from the East, and that loss came last night to the No. 1 seed Cavs. Orlando is hardly Cleveland. They have also won and covered in seven straight games as favorites against the East.

To make matters worse (for the Magic), Orlando is just 9-19 straight up against the West and 8-24 as the underdog. Orlando is also 3-14 as an underdog against the West this year. We won’t play games with spreads here. Simply take what the betting sites give you on this one with a reasonable -150 moneyline.
