No. 2 Michigan State vs. No. 6 Ole Miss - South Region - Atlanta, GA @ 7:10PM
Jase Richardson has been on absolute fire since Tom Izzo wisely inserted the son of program legend Jason Richardson into the starting lineup on February 8. He scored 29 that day and was on a roll for six weeks before he shocked everyone and himself with a 1-for-10 showing in the Second Round last weekend. Of course, we’d bet the over on his three-pointers made.
But you know what? Just like Izzo, we’re not giving up on the kid. Despite being 0-for-9, Richardson hit two huge free throws and his final shot of the game in the clutch to help push the Spartans to the win.
In the four games of the Big Ten and March Madness tournaments, he has averaged 2.5 threes on 48 percent shooting despite his o-fer on Sunday. Ole Miss also allows 7.9 threes per game, which is fourth-most among the remaining 16 teams in the tourney. The cherry on top is that this prop is still offering plus odds on most Canadian betting sites, so get it while it’s hot.
Best Bet: Jase Richardson Over 1.5 Threes (+105)
No. 2 Tennessee vs. No. 3 Kentucky - Midwest Region - Indianapolis, IN @ 7:40PM
Two SEC powerhouses throw down in the cradle of basketball in Indiana. This is the second round in a row in which the Wildcats go into a game as an underdog despite being the higher seed. They are 8-4 ATS this season as the underdog, including two massive upsets of these same Volunteers.
Kentucky is getting healthy at the right time with Lamont Butler back in the fold, and we don’t think Tennessee’s back court can play much better than they did last week. We won’t go as far as their moneyline, but we’ll back the Cats on the spread here.
Best Bet: Kentucky +5.5 Alternative Point Spread (-140)
No. 1 Auburn vs. No. 5 Michigan - South Region - Atlanta, GA @ 9:40PM
Auburn is tough, but man, this Wolverines team just loves an upset. They are a pristine 7-2 ATS as an underdog this season, including four straight up wins in their last four games as dogs, all of which have come in the last two weeks.
Michigan loves the big moment, and Auburn has been less than convincing as a favorite lately, failing to cover the spread in five of their last six. That includes three straight up losses; the lone cover came in the Second Round against Creighton, a game the Blue Jays were in right down to the wire despite eventually losing by 12.
Best Bet: Michigan Alternative +10.5 Point Spread (-150)
No. 1 Houston vs. No. 4 Purdue - Midwest Region - Indianapolis, IN @ 10:10PM
Kelvin Sampson’s guys were a No. 1 seed in both 2023 and 2024, and both times they bowed out as favorites in the Sweet Sixteen. Not this time, baby. According to Action Network, 35 one-seeds have lost in the Sweet Sixteen. Duke in 2005 and 2006 is the only other No. 1 to lose in back-to-back years. No team has ever lost three straight.
Meanwhile, for Purdue, it seems being so close to home heaps added pressure: underdogs playing in their home state in the Sweet 16 like the Boilermakers are 0-7 straight up and 3-4 ATS. Sometimes, betting on March Madness is about following your gut. But sometimes, it’s about following the trends.
Best Bet: Houston -8.0 Point Spread (-110)
