- Prop Bets – Prop Bets or Proposition Bets are bets placed on an individual player or event. Prop Bets can be placed on anything from how many goals a specific player will score, to a simple yes/no proposition.

Popular Betting Markets
- Outright Winner– The winner of an entire competition rather than a single event. In this case you would place your bet for who you predict to win the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship.
- Point Spread– The point spread is an amount set by oddsmakers to provide an advantage/disadvantage based on a margin of victory/defeat for a given team.
The team pegged as the “favorite” (likely to win), will be given a negative point spread. This means they would have to win the game by the given points to earn you a payout. The “underdog” (projected to lose) is given a positive point spread.
Meaning the team can lose a game, but as long as it is within the given positive point spread, they would still be considered victorious against the spread.
Example: Canada (-1.5) vs. USA (+1.5)
Canada enters the game as 1.5-point favorites, meaning they would have to win the game by 2 points or more to win the bet. USA, on the other hand, enters the game as a 1.5-point underdog. USA could either win the game outright or lose the game, but by no more than 1.5 points to win the bet.
Example: Canada defeats USA 2-1. Canada wins the game, but USA wins the bet by “covering the spread”, as it did not lose by more than 1.5 points.
- Total (Over/Under) - The total is a marker set by oddsmakers to determine the combination of points scored by both teams. You can place your bet on whether you believe the total will be over or under the set total.
Example: Canada vs. USA (Over/Under 4 points) | Canada wins 2-1, giving a total of just 3 points scored between the two teams. Since 3 is less than 4, the game went UNDER.
