Copa America 2024: Best Bets & Parlay | June 23

The fourth day of the 2024 Copa America on Sunday, June 23, presents the opening of group play for the four nations in Group C: USA, Bolivia, Uruguay, and Panama. With both USA and Uruguay coming in as massive favorites for their respective matches, we had to get a little more creative with our best bet parlay, which yielded some excellent value picks, including the talismans for both favorites to score in the opener.

USA vs. Bolivia Best Bet:

Christian Pulisic Anytime Scorer (+105) | Betway

The latest player to wear the “Captain America” moniker proudly for the USMNT is phenom Christian Pulisic, who is no longer much of a phenom, but rather a fully-fledged star who started 32 games for AC Milan this past season, contributing a career-high 20 goal involvements (12 goals, 8 assists), good for second on the team.

He’s free from the toxicity and pressures of the Chelsea factory and has really blossomed in his first season in Serie A, which we believe will carry over to this Copa America. We’ve already seen evidence of this, as Pulisic has scored in five of his last eight appearances for the Stars and Stripes in the lead up to the tournament.

That includes a run of three goals in his last four USA caps, the most recent of which was a clever free kick goal against none other than Brazil. He should continue this run against Bolivia, who are by far the lowest-rated squad in the tourney, and with the +105 odds being offered from sports betting sites for Pulisic to score anytime, we should be laughing all the way to the bank.

Uruguay vs. Panama Best Bet:

Both Teams To Score - NO (-161) | Betway

Panama is only slightly better than Bolivia, sitting as the second-lowest rated team in this tournament, while Uruguay remains a top 15 side in the entire world. They will also be getting a jolt from the return of national hero Luis Suarez to the squad.

As if they needed it. These sides have only faced off twice, both in international friendlies that resulted in Uruguay clean sheet wins. We’d expect the same thing to happen here, as La Celeste has kept clean sheets in five of their last eight (including shutouts of both Brazil and Argentina).

Meanwhile, Panama has been kept off the scoreboard the last three times they played teams that qualified for this Copa. There’s nothing like a ‘both teams to score’ wager in soccer betting, but we’re going the other way here, with the Both Teams To Score - No route at -161 odds, as we expect a Uruguayan clean sheet once again.

Uruguay vs. Panama Best Bet:

Darwin Nunez Anytime Scorer (-125) | Betway

While Betway is offering longer odds for this prop, we view it as an even more sure thing than our BTTS - NO wager in the previous pick. Darwin Nunez just had the season of his life in the EPL, putting in 11 goals and 8 assists for Liverpool.

He’s also come into his own as a reliable goal-scoring commodity for his nation, scoring in each of his last five caps dating back to October, including a hat trick against Mexico and a brace against Bolivia. He’s as ‘in-form’ as any striker in the tourney, so -125 odds are more than acceptable here.
