Copa America 2024: Best Bets & Parlay | Quarter-Finals July 4-5

Group stage play is over for Groups A and B, with Argentina and Canada emerging from Group A, and Venezuela and Ecuador coming out of Group B. Argentina will take on Ecuador on July 4 in Houston, while Venezuela will look to stay hot against the debuting Canadians in Dallas on July 5. We’ve got three perfect props to ensure you’re making some money on American Independence Day!

Argentina vs. Ecuador Best Bet:

Odds provided by Betway

Argentina to Win (-222) | Betway

There’s not much to say here. Argentina are the only nation in this tournament to win all three of their group games without conceding a single goal. They’ve won 31 of 33 matches since the start of the 2022 World Cup, and the two they didn’t win were both friendlies.

Argentina’s big names are all at the top of the pitch, but the players that make up their back line are no joke either, which is why it’s hard to imagine Ecuador pushing this to extra time.

Heck, La Albiceleste didn’t even need Lionel Messi to get their final 2-0 win of group play against Peru. We wish the soccer betting odds were a little bit better, but honestly, we’re surprised Betway and other sports betting sites are offering them as long as -222, so don’t hesitate here.

Argentina vs. Ecuador Best Bet:

Lionel Messi Anytime Scorer (+110) | Betway

Considering we’ve bet on Lionel Messi to score in every match in this tournament, this might be starting to feel a bit Sisyphean. But trust us, we and Messi are going to shove that big boulder to the top of that hill on American Independence Day on July 4.

Messi has played in eight major tournaments (WC or Copa) in his long and storied career, and never once has he been kept off the score sheet for an entire tournament. Did we mention that he’s scored seven goals in six career competitive caps against Ecuador?

This is the day, ladies and germs, and we’re just thankful that Ontario sportsbooks are still offering his anytime scorer prop at odds as nice as +110.

Canada vs. Venezuela Best Bet:

Venezuela to Qualify (-118) | Betway

Canada and Venezuela have probably been the two biggest surprises of this Copa America tournament, so it’s a shame the dream has to end for one of them on Friday in Dallas.

Venezuela has the clear advantage here as the side with a lot more Copa America experience. For example, their captain, Salomon Rondon, has scored five Copa goals in 14 Copa caps in his long tenure as Venezuela’s captain. Meanwhile, Canada is one of the youngest sides in the tournament, and they’re in the midst of their first ever Copa experience.

Venezuela also hasn’t lost to a CONCACAF side in their last seven meetings, and the fact that Canada needed two red cards to earn their four points is a bit worrisome. Venezuela, meanwhile, won in comeback fashion (Ecuador), by playing a deep block (Mexico), and by dominating the action (Jamaica).
