FC Barcelona vs Inter Milan Odds

Barca is a heavy -150 home favorite in the first leg, while Inter is sitting as a clear underdog at soccer betting sites.

There’s been 12 European meetings between these two sides, with Barcelona winning six, while Inter has four victories. The other two games ended level. Arguably the most historic two-legged tie was in the 2009/10 semifinals when Jose Mourinho’s Inter took down an unstoppable Barca side, ultimately progressing to win the grand prize.

FC Barcelona vs Inter Milan Analysis

The last few seasons have been grim for Barca when it comes to the Champions League. Other than their 2022-23 La Liga title, they haven’t enjoyed much success at all. But, this season is a different story. Hansi Flick’s men are four points clear at the top of the Spanish top flight and remain standing in the UCL, while Madrid is already eliminated.

The Catalans also just grabbed the Copa del Rey title on Saturday, beating Los Blancos 3-2 in extra time in thrilling fashion. Barcelona’s second leg defeat to Dortmund in the quarterfinals was their first since late December. Regardless, they still progressed 5-3 on aggregate. Flick’s group is arguably the strongest side left in the Champions League and have two of the top goal scorers in the competition. Raphinha with 12, and Robert Lewandowski with 11 goals.

Inter is still chasing the Scudetto in Serie A, sitting three points behind Napoli with only a few games to go. When it comes to Europe, the Nerazzurri took down a giant of their own in the quarters, beating Bayern Munich 4-3 on aggregate. Since then however, Simone Inzaghi’s squad has yet to win.

First, it was a 1-0 defeat to Bologna in league action, hurting their title hopes in the process. AC Milan then shut them out in the Coppa Italia before another defeat to Roma on Sunday. During this span, Inter hasn’t scored a goal. They couldn’t be in worse form heading into such an important clash, but the hope is the visitors can figure it out and find a respectable result in Spain before the return leg at the San Siro.

FC Barcelona vs Inter Milan Injury News

Barca have a deep attack with many options, but Lewandowski remains sidelined with a hamstring injury and could miss both semifinal ties as a result. Elsewhere, Marc Bernal and Marc Casado are both dealing with knee injuries. As for Inter, they’re relatively healthy. Benjamin Pavard suffered a sprained ankle over the weekend but he could potentially play despite the injury.

FC Barcelona vs Inter Milan Picks

Barca have never lost to Inter at home and head into this affair in the best form possible. As I discussed, it’s the complete opposite for the Italians. I’ll take the hosts to win, but I’m eyeing both teams to score as well. Inter is due to finally find the back of the net and Lautaro Martinez has scored in five straight UCL games. He could do so again.
