Borussia Dortmund will welcome Barcelona to Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday, April 15 for the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. The kick-off is scheduled for 3 PM ET. The Spanish giants head into the return tie with a massive advantage, having beaten last year’s UCL finalists 4-0 in the opening leg last week in Catalonia. It will take quite the performance from the hosts to overturn this deficit. Below, we’ll dive into the Borussia Dortmund vs Barcelona picks.

Borussia Dortmund vs Barcelona Analysis
Despite making the UCL showpiece last season, it’s been a rather disappointing campaign for Dortmund. They’re in eighth place in the Bundesliga and unless they can pull off an absolute miracle, the club won’t be playing in Europe in any capacity in 2025-26. That’s certainly not an ideal situation for BVB, who were literally on the doorstep of European glory less than a year ago.
On a more positive note, the Black and Yellows found a respectable result over the weekend, playing to a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich, who are in first place. When it comes to the Champions League, it does appear Dortmund is on its way to a quarterfinal exit after Barcelona wiped the floor with them last week. The hosts scored three goals by the 66th minute and completely outplayed the Germans. It will be extremely difficult to come back here against such an elite side.
As for Barca, they’re truly having a remarkable campaign. Hansi Flick’s men are four points clear at the top of La Liga ahead of Real Madrid, and with Los Blancos staring down an early departure from Europe’s most prized competition, it opens up a clear opportunity for the Catalans to eye a UCL title. They’ve definitely looked the part, playing fantastic football in the group stages with a 6-1-1 record before running through Benfica in the Round of 16.
Barca didn’t slow down in the opening leg against Dortmund, either. Raphinha bagged his UCL leading 12th goal of the campaign while also providing two assists. Robert Lewandowski, who has been firing on all cylinders in the final third, hit the back of the net twice, too. Barcelona hasn’t tasted defeat since December of last year and continues to find positive results on a weekly basis. They won’t need to do much here to progress to the semifinals. Considering this club rarely concedes a lot of goals, they’re in a great position.
Borussia Dortmund vs Barcelona Injury News
Dortmund will be without a few players here. While Pascal Gross returns from suspension, Emre Can, Marcel Sabitzer, and Nico Schlotterbeck are all battling injuries ahead of the second leg at Signal Iduna. For Barcelona, Alejandro Balde suffered an injury over the weekend that will keep him out long-term. Marc Bernal, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and Marc Casado remain in the treatment room.
Borussia Dortmund vs Barcelona Picks
As we saw in the first leg, there is a clear difference in the quality of these two clubs. Barcelona is on a superior level, especially this term. I do not see them having any issues winning this clash in convincing fashion. Lock in the Barca moneyline with confidence.
