Barcelona vs Borussia Dortmund Odds

Barca comes in as a heavy -278 favorite to win the first leg here, while BVB returns as a +625 underdog at soccer betting sites. They’ve met five times before in this competition, with the Catalans going unbeaten, winning three and drawing twice.

Barcelona vs Borussia Dortmund Analysis

Barcelona is truly flying high this term. They’re sitting four points clear in first place in La Liga and have also looked phenomenal in the Champions League. In the group stages, Hansi Flick’s men finished in second place behind Liverpool automatically qualifying for the last 16 with an impressive 6-1-1 record. They were essentially flawless.

In the knockouts, Barca did come up against a difficult Benfica outfit, but they produced the goods. They ran out 1-0 winners in the opening leg before grabbing a convincing 4-2 victory in the return fixture. Raphinha leads the entire Champions League with 11 goals and although he didn’t play over the weekend in a draw with Betis due to rest, he will be back in the fold here. Robert Lewandowski has also bagged nine goals in the competition and will be looking to keep it rolling against his former club on Wednesday.

Dortmund were a Champions League finalist last season, ultimately losing in the showpiece to Real Madrid. The fact they even made it that far was a miracle and while BVB could certainly make some noise again, the club has a very tough road. Barcelona will be a tall task. The reality is The Black and Yellows aren’t having the best campaign, sitting in eighth in the Bundesliga.

BVB finished outside of the top eight in the group stages of the UCL, which meant they had to beat Sporting in the play-offs before eliminating Lille in the Round of 16. In group play, Dortmund compiled a 5-0-3 record. They’ve only managed to win three of their 20 away games against Spanish opposition in European competition, which isn’t exactly a great sign ahead of such a crucial fixture.

Barcelona vs Borussia Dortmund Injury News

Barca remain without a handful of players. Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Marc Bernal, and Marc Casao are sidelined with season-ending injuries. Dani Olmo is set to miss out due to a muscle problem, while Inigo Martinez is doubtful to feature. As previously mentioned, Raphinha will join the attack again alongside Lewandowski and phenom Lamine Yamal. For Dortmund, Austrian standout Marcel Sabitzer is their only absentee.

Barcelona vs Borussia Dortmund Picks

Barcelona is clearly the stronger side here and their quality will surely shine through. With the moneyline offering minimal value, I’m eyeing the hosts to win by two goals here on home soil. I am expecting a convincing victory.
