Manchester City: +225 to Win Champions League
Manchester City, despite not winning last year’s Champions League, are without a doubt the best squad in European football at the moment. They fell just short in the semifinals last year, but they’ll be back, as they always are under Pep Guardiola. City no longer have the pall of zero UCL victories hanging over them anymore, which means they’ll be able to play with a lot more mental freedom.
City are not expected to lose any major contributors, but some of their top players, such as Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker, are getting up there in age, so Guardiola and company will have to make the right moves in the transfer window.
Tournaments are famously tough to predict (hello, March Madness); City are the best team, but the whole point of tournaments is that anything can happen on any given day. So, when betting on a preseason future, you’d probably like to get a little more value than the +225 odds City is getting here.
Real Madrid: +300 to Win Champions League
Real Madrid owns this tournament, having won 15 times, with the next closest club having lifted the trophy just seven times. However, history is working against them this year: the only time the Champions League has been won by the same team in back-to-back years since 1990 was Madrid’s run of three straight from 2016-2018.
Madrid haven’t exactly been at their most dominant in recent years either, and with the arrival of a player of Kylian Mbappe on the horizon, they will have to change their entire identity to fit him in. In 2026, watch out for Madrid, but we believe this will be a year of transition for them, so stay away from their +300 odds, which aren’t offering much value anyway.
Arsenal: +900 to Win Champions League
The first really interesting option in this betting market is Arsenal, who are offering odds three times higher than Madrid or City, which says the Gunners are offering a ton of value here. They have never won this competition, but they returned for the first time in seven years in 2023, and pushed all the way to the quarterfinals with one of the youngest squads in the field.
Considering the age of their core, Arsenal should continue to improve, and they will likely have the semifinal as their most conservative UCL goal in 2025. Arsenal have already added support at left back in Riccardo Calafiori, where they struggled with consistency and injuries last year, and are expected to make more moves to inch closer to City and Madrid. If you want to go with one of the top three, Arsenal are the only ones with odds (+900) that make the juice worth the squeeze.
Best of the Rest:
- Bayern Munich (+1,100): Even in a down year last season, Bayern Munich made the semifinal and pushed Real Madrid to the brink. There’s no way they’ll be worse this year than last, so +1,100 odds to win their first UCL since 2020 are sneaky good here.
- PSG (+1,600): Perennial semi finalists and finalists, PSG is going to get over the hump one of these days, and why not this year? They have sold disgruntled attacker Kylian Mbappe, which should create a more cohesive team. Not to mention the money they get from the Mbappe sale will mean they can be aggressive in improving elsewhere on the pitch during this transfer window.
- Inter Milan (+1,800): They reached the final just two seasons ago, and easily could have won that match. Inter has been a great cup team in recent seasons, winning five of six Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italianas over the last three years. They’ve got talent up and down the pitch, and their striker, Lautaro Martinez, just won the Copa America 2024 Golden Boot.
