Highest total wagers reported in Q3 2024-2025
The latest market performance report from iGaming Ontario revealed a new high for betting wagers in Ontario. For Q3 2024-2025, Ontario reported $3.4 billion total betting wagers.
“Betting, including on sports, esports, proposition and novelty bets, as well as exchange betting, accounted for $3.4 billion (15%) of total wagers and $166 million (20%) of gaming revenue.”
Total betting wagers of $3.4 billion is the highest number reported by iGaming Ontario so far. They started posting market performance reports in 2022 after the iGaming market in Ontario launched.
The previous highest betting wagers total was $3.1 billion in Q3 2023-2024. Betting wagers declined every quarter since Q3 2023-2024 until Q3 of 2024-2025. On the other hand, casino wagers have gone up every quarter since that time. iGaming Ontario reported $18.9 billion in total wagers for Q3, up from $16 billion in Q2. These wagers don’t include promotional wagers (bonuses). The total wagers for peer-to-peer poker in Q3 was $418 million. Peer-to-peer poker “includes all multi-player poker cash games and tournaments.”
Betting, casino, and peer-to-peer poker revenue
Betting accounted for $166 million of gaming revenue. The casino accounted for $644 million of gaming revenue. And peer-to-peer poker accounted for $16 million of gaming revenue. 930,000 players were active on average in Q3 2024-2025 from October to December, according to the data.
“Total gaming revenue of $825.8 million shows a 10% increase over last quarter and a 25% increase over Q3 of last year. This figure represents total cash wagers, including rake fees, tournament fees, and other fees, across all Operators, minus player winnings derived from cash wagers and does not take into account operating costs or other liabilities.”
