BetMGM: Most Bets Placed on the Detroit Lions to Win Super Bowl LIX

BetMGM posted a lot of betting data for the upcoming NFL playoffs. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs won back-to-back Super Bowls, but a lot of bettors are putting their money elsewhere.

Bettors riding with the Detroit Lions

BetMGM bettors have placed the most bets on the Detroit Lions to win Super Bowl 59 since December 31, according to the sportsbook. With 15.1% of bets placed and 16.3% of money wagered as of January 6, the Lions are the most bet on team to win the Super Bowl and the betting favourites at +275 on BetMGM. Bettors on the sportsbook placed the second most bets on the Kansas City Chiefs with 12.7% of bets placed. The Chiefs also have the second best odds to win the championship at +350.

As the betting favourites to win the Super Bowl, the Lions are also the most bet on team to win the NFC Championship. According to the sportsbook, 32.9% of bets were placed on the Lions to win the NFC. And 39.1% of money wagered on the NFC Championship winner was bet on the Lions. The Lions are currently +125 betting favourites to win the conference. The second most bets were placed on the Philadelphia Eagles with 12.5%. The Green Bay Packers were third on the list with 10.4%. The Eagles at +350 and Packers at +900 have the second and fourth best odds to win the NFC.

The Buffalo Bills still in the mix

As part of Wild Card Weekend, the Buffalo Bills are scheduled to play against the Denver Broncos on January 12, the first playoff game of the season for the Bills. The Bills are big -450 moneyline betting favourites to win the game. The Broncos are +350 underdogs. Despite being big favourites in this game, bettors placed 57% of bets on the Bills to win. On the other hand, 75% of the money wagered was on the Bills.

The Bills aren’t only big favourites to win their first playoff game. The Bills are one of the most bet on teams to win the AFC Championship and Super Bowl LIX. 7.9% of bets were placed on the Bills to win the Super Bowl. 10.8% of bets were placed on the Bills to win the AFC.

According to the data, bettors have wagered the most money on the Baltimore Ravens to win the AFC Championship. The “Ravens have amassed 40% of money wagered to win the conference. That’s by far the most money accumulated to win the AFC.” But with 12% of bets placed to win the conference, the Ravens are right behind the Chiefs for the most bet on team to win the AFC.

The Ravens are heavily favoured to win their playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on January 11. The Ravens are -600 betting favourites. 53% of bets placed were on the Steelers in this game. 77% of money wagered was on the Ravens. Of all the Wild Card Weekend games, the Los Angeles Chargers had the highest percentage of bets placed and money wagered. 88% of bets on the Chargers vs Houston Texans game were on the Chargers. 92% of the money wagered was on the Chargers. The teams with the most bets to win the Super Bowl were the Chiefs, Ravens, Bills, Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, and Packers.
