Aaron Rodgers Next Team NFL Betting Odds Breakdown & Predictions

Aaron Rodgers’ swan song with the New York Jets didn’t quite hit the notes he was looking for. Now it’s on to bigger and better things for the 20-year veteran. But just because Rodgers is done with the Jets, does that mean he’s done with the City of New York altogether?

It seems like the answer there could very well be no. The Jets’ city-mates, the New York Football Giants, are now pretty hefty favorites to be Rodgers’ next NFL team according to most Canadian sportsbooks. We’ll take a look at why Rodgers to the Giants makes sense (or doesn’t), breakdown the likelihood that the other top contenders could swoop in, and provide you with a couple more fun dart throws at where the polarizing future Hall of Famer might play in the 2025 season.

Highlights

  • The Giants have become pretty significant favorites to land Aaron Rodgers
  • Pittsburgh is a win-now team, though they would need to add offensive weapons
  • Minnesota would offer Rodgers an opportunity to follow further in Brett Favre’s footsteps

The Favorite to Land Aaron Rodgers: New York Giants (-250)

The Giants were in hard for Matthew Stafford. When the Rams announced that they wouldn’t be letting their veteran franchise QB, the Giants had to switch tactics, which explains why they’ve rocketed to the top of the odds board. There have been no concrete talks between player and team, but the Giants’ brass are “including Aaron Rodgers in their search for a veteran QB”, per ESPN.

If they decide to forego a QB in this draft and wait for the stronger QB class coming in 2026, Rodgers could not only serve as a competitive bridge for 2025, but as a mentor for whoever they draft in 2026.

If they do draft Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward at No. 3, Rodgers could still serve as a good mentor. Both Sanders and Ward would be well-served sitting for a year or so before being thrown into the fire. Big markets like New York love stars, and Rodgers is as big as they get in the NFL. The only question would be whether Rodgers would be interested in joining a rebuilding team. That last part seems very unlikely, which is why the Giants are not great value here at -250 odds.

Dark horses to Land Aaron Rodgers: Pittsburgh Steelers (+350), Minnesota Vikings (+850)

The Steelers are probably the team that has been linked with Aaron Rodgers for the longest during this offseason. They currently sit 2nd on the odds board, but they’re offering a ton more value than the Giants. Not to mention that they could be a win-now team with the addition of one or two premier offensive weapons. They tried with Russ last year, why not give it another go with Aaron Rodgers?

Another one we think is very intriguing are the Vikings, who are offering excellent +850 odds on most betting apps. The Vikings are likely to allow Sam Darnold to hit the free agent market, and while they do have J.J. McCarthy, he’s essentially a rookie, and Minnesota is coming off a 15-win season. Rodgers could really rejuvenate himself with the weapons and coaching the Vikings have.

Not to mention it would continue his trend of following in Brett Favre’s footsteps. Favre played two decades for the Packers, then had a controversial exit followed by a down year with the Jets. He then had an MVP-caliber season with the Vikings the year after that. Stranger things have happened.

Aaron Rodgers Next NFL Team Fun Long Shots

  • Indianapolis Colts (+850): Anthony Richardson is clearly a project. But the potential there is so tantalizing, the Colts simply cannot give up on him. The rest of the roster is not half-bad, and they might play in the weakest division in the league. If Richardson is prepared to sit for a season or two learning behind Rodgers, it could be very beneficial for all involved—as long as everyone buys in and is on the same page.
  • Cleveland Browns (+1,600): If 39-year-old Aaron Rodgers to the Jets was one of the most “Jetsy” moves ever, then 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers to the Browns is an even more “Brownsy” move. Cleveland has made a few splashes in recent years, so ownership likes to take chances. Who’s a bigger chance than A-Rod right now? Replace a universally disliked QB with a more famous one that’s only disliked by half as many people. Progress, Browns style.
  • San Francisco 49ers (+2,500): The 49ers have not yet paid Brock Purdy. They are negotiating, but after last season, there’s a very real chance that player and team don’t agree on his value. In could step Aaron Rodgers, who is a California son and was a big fan of the 49ers growing up. His cupboard will be stocked with weapons, and no doubt he and Kyle Shanahan would mesh well. If Purdy negotiations break down, you’ll be glad you took these +2,500 odds.
