Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix Outright Odds - June 1st, 9AM EST
The field will try to put some pressure on Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, and the rest of the Red Bull team in Barcelona as they look to end Red Bull’s streak of seven straight victories going back to the end of the 2022 campaign. Oddsmakers aren’t giving anyone not driving for Red Bull much of a chance, but as always the ones who have the best shot are Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, and Charles Leclerc. Red Bull Odds Analysis
Red Bull has been essentially untouchable so far this season, with the team taking the top two spots four times in 2023. No one but Red Bull drivers have won a race this year, and with Max Verstappen having won the Spanish Grand Prix in 2016 and 2022, the team has had recent success at this circuit as well.
Mercedes Odds Analysis
Mercedes’ dominance is over, but they’re still in a proper battle for second place with Aston Martin. Hamilton has been very consistent this year, finishing top six in each race. Considering Hamilton is also tied for the all-time record with six wins at the Spanish Grand Prix, including five straight from 2017-2021, Mercedes isn’t a bad bet at +3,300 as the manufacturer of the winning driver.
Ferrari Odds Analysis
After a rough year in 2022, new management hasn’t seemed to make a difference in terms of results for the Italians in 2023. Last year in Barcelona, Charles Leclerc was forced to retire and Carlos Sainz just missed the podium, finishing in fourth. The pair has managed just one podium combined so far this season, so +350 odds for the winning driver to be in a Ferrari is not offering a ton of value.
Aston Martin Odds Analysis
While they’re nowhere near Red Bull’s level, Aston Martin has definitely been Red Bull’s best challenger so far this season. Former champ Fernando Alonso is having a career resurgence and has made five of six podiums. Lance Stroll isn’t much of a threat, but Alonso alone makes Aston Martin’s +750 odds to win the Spanish Grand Prix very intriguing.

Sergio Perez Podium Odds
The man they call Checo will always be the best bet in the field because after Max Verstappen, he’s always got the best chance of winning. At +316 he’s offering great value to win, but a podium finish is all but guaranteed, so -278 odds are not too shabby there at all.
Fernando Alonso Podium Odds
The most consistent driver this season apart from Verstappen, Fernando Alonso has been in the mix nearly every week. With five podiums out of six this year, Alonso’s -189 odds to make the podium are a very safe bet.
Charles Leclerc Podium Odds
The Monegasque driver has been arguably the greatest disappointment of this young 2023 Formula 1 season. He’s retired twice this year and managed just one podium so far. He also retired at this circuit last year, all of which combine to make his +200 odds a little bit dicey.
Lewis Hamilton Podium Odds
If there’s anyone who’s going to upset the established trio at the top of the field in Barcelona it’s the seven-time champ. Lewis Hamilton was especially dominant at the Spanish Grand Prix when he was at his best, winning five straight here from 2017-2021. Hamilton already has a podium under his belt this season so his +250 odds here are very intriguing.
George Russell Podium Odds
The lesser known Mercedes driver has had a solid season as well, finishing top five three times. However, George Russell is still chasing his first 2023 podium and after finishing third at last year’s Spanish Grand Prix, this could be the weekend for the youngster.
